This month’s guest, Dr. Georgia Sarquella-Brugada, has a MD degree from the University of Barcelona, specialist in Pediatrics and a master’s degree in Pediatric Cardiology from the University of Barcelona. Fellowship in Catheterization in Congenital Heart Disease at the Ste. Justine Hospital, Montréal (Canada) and at the Necker Hospital in Paris. Pediatric Electrophysiology Fellowship at the University of Barcelona. Doctorate Cum Laude with International Mention from the University of Barcelona.
She is currently the Head of the Arrhythmias, Familial Heart Diseases and Sudden Death Unit at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona (the largest pediatric hospital in Spain).
She is an associate professor at the University of Barcelona and the University of Girona.
She coordinates the pediatric subnetwork of the European Reference Network in Rare Cardiac Diseases of the European Commission and is President of the Working Group Basic Science and Genetics of the Association for European Pediatric Cardiology (AEPC).
She is part of many humanitarian programs to improve healthcare in underdeveloped countries.
She loves her work, from teaching to research and especially the global care of patients and their families based on humanistic medicine.
