The Canadian SADS Foundation is pleased to announce another SADS Expert Insights webinar: “Advancing Long QT Syndrome Understanding Through Stem Cells”. This event promises to offer invaluable insights into the use of stem cells in studying the mechanisms behind Long QT Syndrome and exploring their potential therapeutic applications in the future.

Our distinguished speakers for the session are Mariam Butt, a MSc student involved in understanding the genetic and molecular foundations of inherited Long QT Syndrome, and Glen Tibbits, a renowned expert with extensive experience in cardiac physiology and stem cell research. Mariam’s expertise lies in the innovative realm of genome editing techniques applied to stem cells, aiming to illuminate the genetic underpinnings of arrhythmias. Glen, with a rich academic and research background from institutions like McGill University, UCLA, and Simon Fraser University, has significantly contributed to the field of cardiac arrhythmias and cardiomyopathies through his work with human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs).

We remind our attendees that the Canadian SADS Foundation does not offer medical advice, and the content of the webinar is intended solely for informational purposes.
