Join us on Thursday, September 28th from 7-8PM with Dr. Steven Brooks. Dr. Brooks is an esteemed Clinician-Scientist affiliated with the Department of Emergency Medicine at Queen’s University. Having graduated from Queen’s School of Medicine, he furthered his studies with a residency in emergency medicine and a Master’s in Health Sciences from the University of British Columbia. Subsequently, he undertook a fellowship in prehospital and transport medicine at the University of Toronto.

Throughout his academic journey, Dr. Brooks has prioritized research on cardiac arrest and resuscitation. He has contributed significantly to studies that examine innovative methodologies to enhance bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation and access to early defibrillation. His dedication to the field is further evident in his roles: a member of the Resuscitation Advisory Committee of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and Immediate Past Chair of the Science Subcommittee within the American Heart Association Emergency Cardiovascular Care Committee. With a two-decade involvement in developing international emergency cardiovascular care guidelines, Dr. Brooks’s insights are invaluable.

We believe that Dr. Brooks’ extensive experience and dedication to the field will provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of current advancements and challenges in early defibrillation strategies when a sudden cardiac arrest strikes.
